How Doggler collects, uses, and protects your information.

1. Information we collect
When you use Doggler, we collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: display name, email address, city, state, and ZIP code.
- Dog profiles: dog name, breed, temperament notes, and photos you upload.
- Activity data: park check-ins, scheduled visits, connection codes, and dog relationship records.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, and access timestamps collected automatically for security and abuse prevention.
The information on this platform is primarily about dogs and their park activity. We do not collect financial information, government identifiers, precise geolocation, or health data.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to operate and maintain the service, including to:
- Operate your account and display your profile and dog information to other users as part of normal platform functionality.
- Show nearby dog activity and park check-ins based on your general location.
- Facilitate dog connections, park visits, and the Professional Board.
- Send service-related emails such as password resets and dog invitations.
- Detect abuse, enforce rate limits, and maintain platform security.
- Improve and develop the service.
3. What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information, and have not sold personal information in the preceding 12 months.
- We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
- We do not use third-party analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising networks.
- We do not engage in profiling or automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Who can see your information
Certain information you provide is displayed to other Doggler users as part of the service's core functionality:
- Your display name, city, and state.
- Dog profiles (name, breed, photo) when visible through park activity or connections.
- Park check-ins and scheduled visits you create, according to the visibility setting you choose.
- Professional Board listings, if you opt in to that feature.
Your email address, ZIP code, and account credentials are not displayed to other users. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or legal process, or to protect the safety of users or the public.
5. Data storage and security
Your data is stored on servers we operate. We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the information we hold. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are encouraged to use information on this platform that you are comfortable sharing in a social context among other dog owners.
6. Cookies and sessions
Doggler uses a session cookie that is necessary for the service to function. This cookie keeps you signed in while you use the site. It is HTTP-only, scoped to this site, and expires when your session ends or after a period of inactivity. We do not use tracking cookies, third-party cookies, advertising cookies, or browser fingerprinting. Because this cookie is strictly necessary for the service to operate, separate consent is not required.
7. Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account exists and for a reasonable period afterward as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our terms. When account data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it as part of routine maintenance on a schedule we determine at our discretion. Certain records such as security logs and abuse-prevention data may be retained in anonymized or aggregated form beyond account deletion.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), or similar state and national privacy laws.
Through your account, you can:
- View and edit your profile information, dog profiles, and photos at any time.
- Remove content you have posted.
- Control the visibility of your park check-ins.

- Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
- Request information about the categories of personal data we hold about you.
- Exercise other rights available to you under applicable law.
To protect your privacy and the security of accounts, all data requests must be submitted from the email address associated with your account, and we may require you to verify your identity before we process a request. We will respond to verified requests within a reasonable timeframe consistent with applicable law. We reserve the right to deny requests that are manifestly unfounded, excessive, or repetitive, or where we are permitted or required by law to retain the data.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
9. Legal basis for processing (EEA/UK users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal basis for processing your personal data is: (a) performance of the contract between you and Doggler (your account and use of the service), (b) our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the service, and (c) compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing, though this may limit your ability to use certain features.
10. International data and server location
Doggler is operated by individuals in the United States. Our servers are currently located in Australia. We may move, add, or change server locations at any time without notice as operational needs require. Your information may be stored and processed in any country where we operate infrastructure. By using the service, you acknowledge and consent to the transfer of your information to these locations, which may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction.
11. Children's privacy
Doggler is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will take steps to remove it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy at any time. When we make changes, we will update the "last updated" date at the top. For material changes, we may provide additional notice to active users. Your continued use of Doggler after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
